Description:
Emilie, a thirty-year-old who is disorganized and broke, feels as though everything is against her. Her ex-husband wants their daughter to live with him full-time now that he has moved on. Emilie's sporty, affluent brother gives her an ultimatum after an accident in her flat causes her to come in with him: if she wants to stay, she has to compete in the Birken, a 54-kilometer skiing event. Even though Emilie has never gone skiing before, what begins as a nightmare eventually gives her hope for the future and a sense of success. Can Emilie show to the world and to herself that she is more than a loser by finishing the Birken race?
Storyline:
To stay at her brother's house, a struggling divorced mother needs to learn how to ski and finish a demanding 54-kilometer marathon. She finds inner strength as she prepares for the unachievable task.
